Root Canal Treatment
Root canal treatment is a process in which nerves, channels, and tissues in the inner part of the tooth are removed. This procedure is performed when the tooth is damaged due to inflammation, infection, or injury. Root canal treatment can help protect the tooth and also relieve pain and other symptoms.
How is Canal Treatment Performed?
- Anesthesia: Local anesthesia is applied to numb the tooth.
- Access: The decayed or damaged part of the tooth is removed, and access to the inside of the tooth is provided.
- Cleaning: Nerves, ducts, and other soft tissues are removed. The inside of the tooth is cleaned using special tools and solutions.
- Shaping: The channels are shaped, and the inside of the tooth is cleaned more thoroughly.
- Filling: The canals are filled with special filling materials, and the inside of the tooth is sealed.
- Restoration: The lost part of the tooth is restored, usually with a filling or a crown.
Root canal treatment is typically completed in a few sessions. The procedure helps to re-functionalize the tooth and relieve pain and other discomforts.
